Yesterday was the first official day of the new catalog! Very exciting day in geeky-Stampin’-Up! world! HAHA Now that the dust has settled, I wanted to share with you some projects I made over Memorial Day weekend…
I call this particular group of cards, “A Meeting of the In Colors.”
Each year, SU’s brilliant researchers and artists come up with 5 new, trendy colors we get to love only for 2 years. It’s the highlight of every catalog reveal for me because I LOVE color! Because there’s overlap, it means we have 10 colors in the collection at any given time!
Right now, there are the 5 from the 2014-2016 In Color collection:
and the 5 from the 2015-2017 collection:
I have to be honest that I wasn’t “sold” on the latest ones at first blush, but after sticking with the presentation of them from the South Pacific convention and now that I’ve seen them in person for myself, I’m In! Love! Even with the one I thought would be my least favorite, Cucumber Crush (I’ll share an entirely Cucumber Crush card tomorrow)… I originally started this project with only the Blackberry Bliss (’14-’16) and Watermelon Wonder (’15-’17). As I was working with my design, I thought to myself… let me pick 1 from each collection and pair them together! So, here is what I came up with:
Blackberry Bliss (’14-’16) and Watermelon Wonder (’15-’17)
Hello Honey (’14-’16) and Cucumber Crush (’15-’17)
Lost Lagoon (’14-’16) and Tip Top Taupe (’15-’17)
Mossy Meadow (’14-’16) and Delightful Dijon (’15-’17)
Tangelo Twist (’14-’16) and Mint Macaron (’15-’17)
P.S. I absolutely LOVE the Lace Trim!! It’s SO soft… I just love touching it! 🙂
