My first craft blog post

Hello, All!

Welcome to The Inky LadyBug! Home for all of my paper crafting creations.  My hope is that it may provide a little inspiration to you as I and my blog grow!

Just a note on my headline banner: I created the ladybug background in Stampin’ Up’s My Digital Studio (MDS)! I made my ladybugs in the new, 2012-2014 In Colors! Raspberry Ripple, Midnight Muse, Primrose Petals, Summer Starfruit, and Gumball Green.  My plan is to update the banner with the newest In Colors as they come 🙂 (I like these colors, but my heart is with the 2011-2013 In Colors LOL They’re still available, but I wanted my page to be new!)

I have a bunch of older things I want to share, but I don’t want that to the first thing you see! So, I will share with you the most recent item I did:  a Father’s Day card.

My father isn’t the typical Tools ‘n’ Tie kind of person, so I had to think outside the box on this one.  I got the idea for the fold-out look from a swap card someone else received and shared with me.  After many pieces of white paper and cuts and folds later, I figured out how to recreate it (I will post those directions soon!).

Anyway, my father and I are die-hard Clemson University Tiger fans, so I found a nice paw print logo online, resized them, and printed them on cardstock.  I think I’ve been playing with SU! products too long as I didn’t have to resize the paws after I got home with my circle punches! They fit perfectly the first time! LOL

I need to figure out a better way to take pictures and upload them besides my phone (my digicam is old and a pain), so I apologize for the quality.

Here are the details:

Stamps: Something to Celebrate (a retired Hostess set)
Paper: DSP paper stacks in Whisper White (Neutrals), Elegant Eggplant (Regals), and Tangerine Tango (Brights)
Ink: Tangerine Tango
Embellishments: Elegant Eggplant rick rack (available to Demonstrators)
Tools: circle punches, Stampin’ Dimensionals, paper snips
